Our teachers reserve time on their schedules, plan for your lessons, and invest in the long-term development of each student. To provide regular, quality lessons, the following policies need to be observed.
Membership Tuition:
- A $99 non-refundable registration fee is due at initial sign up. ( 20% discount for siblings and returning members).
Returning Member is a member with one (1) or more months gap between enrollment.
- Monthly tuition is based on a 48 week year, not a 52 week year. We are closed for certain holidays and week long breaks. In the long months, you will get five lessons, short months such as November or December, you will get three lessons, but most months you will get four lessons. The tuition is the SAME each month; i.e. we don’t charge you more when you have five lessons, and we don’t charge you less when you have three lessons in a month.
Closed Dates for 2025/2026 school year:
- Labor Day Sept 1st
- Thanksgiving November 27th
- Christmas Break Dec 23rd – Jan 1st
- Memorial Day May 25th
- 4th of July Break June 29th – July 4th
- Monthly Tuition is due on the first of each month and is billed automatically (“Auto-pay”)
- A $25 late fee will be charged for payment received after the 10th of each month for non auto-pay members.
- A $25 fee will be charged for each returned check.
- Educational materials, music books, instrument rental and other accessories are additional cost.
7.Members may purchase additional exam or recital preparation lessons.
Group Class Cancellation:
Sparks Music School reserves the right to cancel group classes with insufficient enrollment. If a class is cancelled, students will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another class. If a student does not enroll in another class, they will receive a refund.
Membership Cancellation Policy:
- Please give the front desk a 30 day notice via our online cancellation form.
Ex: Cancellation received on the 16th of May is billed for June and takes effect at the end of June.
There are no exceptions.
- You may withdraw the cancellation at any time before it takes effect but your teacher and/or time slot can not be guaranteed.
A Returning Student Registration fee will be required to re-enroll once the withdraw takes effect.
- Active membership is mandatory to participate in our events, exams and recitals. All registration(s) will be withdrawn at the time of membership cancellation.
- All make-up lesson Credit on your account expires at the time of membership cancellation.
- Membership is not transferable.
- Sparks Music School does not provide tuition refund under any circumstances.
- Sparks Music School reserves the right to terminate membership in which case prorated tuition will be refunded.
Attandance:
- Students are expected to be punctual to their weekly lessons. Parents and guardians are expected to get their students to their classroom (not just to the lobby) on time.
- Students who are late for a lesson cannot be guaranteed their lesson time.
Missed Lessons:
- No Tuition credit or refund will be provided for missed lessons.
- There is no make-up,credit or recorded lesson for any missed Group Classes.
- A Make-up Lesson Credit will be issued when a lesson is cancelled with at least 24-hour advance notice (online, email, text or call).
- Cancellations made with less than 24-hour notice will not qualify for a Make-up Lesson Credit (This includes being sick the day of a scheduled lesson).
- No more than three (3) Make Up Lesson Credits can be pending at a time per membership
- It can be used to schedule a Make-up Lesson online or by email at any time with your teacher or other available teacher
- Make-up Lessons cannot be rescheduled.
- Make-up Lesson Credit(s) expires when membership ends.
Substitutions:
- You may decide to change teacher or instrument – just please let the front desk know.
- If your teacher is unable to teach a lesson, a substitute teacher will be arranged.
- Regular lesson cancellation policy applies to substitute teachers. No Make-Up Credit is issued for last minute substitutions.
- If your teacher becomes unavailable for a regular lesson, you will be provided a new teacher with a similar teaching style, or the opportunity to choose a new teacher.
Inclement Weather:
Sparks follows the Granbury ISD school closures for inclement weather. We will notify students of school closure on our Facebook page and via text. If your private lesson is canceled due to weather, you will receive a Make-up Lesson Credit. No credits issued for cancelled group classes.
Parent Portal:
All adult students and parents have access to a student portal through our website: https://sparksmusicschool.com – simply click “log in”.
First Time Log In Instructions:
- Enter the email address you provided during registration as your user name
- Click the purple button that says “Get Log In Link By Email”
- Use link provided in email to log in and set your password
You can use your parent portal to check lesson schedules, cancel lessons, schedule make up lesson, change payment methods, and leave messages for your teacher. If you have any trouble navigating online, please reach out to the front desk, we are always happy to help!
Children may not be at Sparks unsupervised:
Sparks is not responsible for children before or after lessons. To ensure the safety of all students, parents need to bring students to their class and may not leave students or their siblings unattended at Sparks.
Injuries:
You assume all risk of injury or harm to the child(ren) or adult(s) associated with participation in musical activities at Sparks Music School and agree to release, indemnify, defend and forever discharge Sparks Music School and its officers and staff from all liability, claims, demands, damages, costs, and expenses in the unlikely event of injury sustained by your child(ren) or adult student during the course or as a result of their participation in Sparks musical activities.
Photo/Video Release:
Unless requested in writing, Sparks Music School is granted permission to take photographs/video of the students to use in brochures, websites, posters, advertisement and other promotional materials Sparks Music School creates. Permission is also hereby granted for Sparks Music School to copyright such photographs in its name.
